If you know me then you know I absolutely LOVE food! The connection I feel between food is unparalleled. Consequently enough, I am a FIRM believer in breakfast as the most important meal of the day. This is one tasty, simple breakfast option that I enjoy guilt-free! No pounds to worry about here. I never had overnight oats until this summer when I went to an immersion boards study program with little time to prepare my breakfast. So I found this recipe and the rest is history. Bon appétit my lovelies!
INGREDIENTS:
- 1/2 cup Quaker Old Fashioned Oats
- 1/2 cup Almond Breeze Vanilla Almond Milk
- 1/2 cup blueberries
- 1 medium banana, sliced
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp flax seeds (optional)
- 1 tbsp honey (optional)
DIRECTIONS:
1. Add honey to your container of choice
2. Add oats and pour in milk and vanilla extract
3. Toss in blueberries
4. Toss in bananas 5. Top with flax seeds (or whatever seeds you like, some people prefer chia seeds)
6. Cover, refrigerate overnight and have yourself a sexy, simple breakfast in the A.M
OPTIONAL:
-When I first used this recipe I would add 6oz of blueberry yogurt right before adding the bananas, because I didn't have blueberries *sad face*, and it was MARVELOUS. So you can add in additional yogurt if there is enough space in your container!
